20 minutes Transcendental Meditation will change your life
An effortless technique to improve health, reduce stress, enjoy clearer more creative thinking and harmonious relationships
An effortless technique to improve health, reduce stress, enjoy clearer more creative thinking and harmonious relationships

Transcendental Meditation is a simple, natural, effortless, mental technique practised 20 minutes twice daily, designed to develop Enlightenment, which can be defined as "the full development of what we ordinarily consider to be the most valuable qualities of human life, and is brought about by gradual physiological refinement and purification."
Enlightenment just means effortlessly being the best you can possibly be.

Scientific Research shows beyond reasonable doubt that 20 minutes practise of Transcendental Meditation twice a day markedly reduces stress, enhances creativity, and develops a lasting state of inner peace. This is what the path to Enlightenment offers. Demonstrated in 600+ scientific research studies conducted in more than 250 independent research institutes and universities worldwide and published in over 100 peer review scientific journals.
I chose to stick with Transcendental Meditation because it's easy and anyone can do it no matter what their background or experience
I'm happier, sleep much better, wake up refreshed, am more focused and can do my work better. Life is easier!

There are so many ways advertised as stress relievers, it’s hard to know what will work best for you.
If you search for stress relief on google you’ll find an endless list of candidates that claim to help in one way or another including: Mindfulness, Hypnotherapy, Aromatherapy, Head Massage, Body Massage, Counselling, Workouts, Sport, Health Clinics, a holiday in the Lakes, and various types of Meditation.
All may give some relief in varying degrees.
Some people use more destructive approaches to handle their stressful lives, such as comfort eating, heavy smoking, alcohol or drugs, which is very unfortunate, as these can only make matters worse, creating financial pressure and health problems, increasing stress and depression, and a vicious circle of destruction is set in motion.
People will tell you there is no best way to handle stress, just the way that works best for you, but the objective evidence doesn’t support this view.
In 1990 a Stanford University meta-analysis in of 146 independent studies was published and found that the TM technique is over twice as effective at reducing trait anxiety when compared to other meditation techniques.
The analysis indicates that TM can help reduce stress hormones like cortisol, improve focus, and has been associated with a reduction in symptoms of PTSD. It has also been linked to lower blood pressure and improved sleep quality, comparable to other lifestyle changes like diet and exercise.
Only research published in reputable peer review journals was used in this meta study.

Transcendental Meditation (TM) shows significant promise as a treatment for PTSD in military personnel, with studies demonstrating it can reduce symptoms of PTSD, depression, anxiety, and sleep difficulties comparable to standard therapies like Prolonged Exposure (PE) therapy.
Unlike trauma-focused treatments, TM aims to calm the nervous system by achieving a state of restful alertness, which can heal the overactive amygdala associated with PTSD.
Research from the Department of Defense and other institutions supports TM's effectiveness, highlighting its potential as a non-trauma-focused, tolerable, and cost-effective option for veterans.
Here is a video of professionals talking about their work with the David Lynch Foundation, treating veterans with severe PTSD symptoms arising from trauma in war zones.
You may have already tried numerous meditation techniques with varying degrees of success, but TM is different in principle and practise.
It's so easy that anyone who can think a thought can do it successfully and start feeling the benefit from the very first session with a certified teacher.

TM has many added advantages which benefit the mind, body, relationships and even society at large. If you are going to spend time doing something to deal with stress, best make it the most effective approach.
Even better, find something that has added value.
Some people think that they don't have time to meditate because they have so much to do. But it is not an exageration to say that TM for 20 minutes twice a day will give you 4-6 times more than it uses.

Janice, a senior NHS administrator, relates this experience after just 4 days of Transcendental Meditation practise:
“When I went into work this morning there was an air of panic.
“I walked into this anxiety ladened atmosphere, which is usually so contagious.
“You can’t help but be sucked into it, and the stress interferes with your ability to think clearly.
“We didn’t have enough beds, and NHS targets mean you need to figure out a solution quickly.
“Working this out under pressure can be a bit of an ordeal for everyone concerned. But not today.
“I felt quite calm and clear headed.”
“Sitting down at my desk I took out a sheet of paper and began to make a list of who was where, and proceeded to allocate bed space according to priority, following NHS guidelines for dealing with this kind of scenario.
“I basically did my job, without any feeling of anxiety or stress, and even a smile on my face, relishing the challenge, enjoying the whole process with a sense of satisfaction, with assured confidence in my own ability.
“It was only after a few minutes, when everything was sorted out that I noticed colleagues looking at me curiously.”
Eventually one of them asked, “Have you taken something?”
A manager in the north west had been unable to sleep properly for a couple of years due to stress and pressure at work .
Her GP was very sympathetic and gave her some sleeping pills which she took regularly, but still she found her sleep was not very refreshing, and there were unwanted side effects of grogginess during the day.
The day after her personal instruction in Transcendental Meditation after meditating twice on her own at home she came for her first followup session. “I’m gobsmacked”, she said. “Why?” her teacher asked. “I’ve just slept for 12 hours,” she replied. "I haven’t done that in 2 years."

A study of data from major US health insurer Blue Cross/Blue Shield examined medical care utilization over five consecutive years among 2,000 subscribers practicing the Transcendental Meditation technique, as compared to norms and control groups matched by age, gender, occupation, and health insurance terms (drawn from a total sample of 600,000).
Both hospital admission and outpatient consultation rates were over 50% lower for subjects practicing TM than norms or controls. In the over-40 age group, the reduction was over 70%. In contrast to controls, the TM group showed relatively little rise in health care needs with advancing age [4].
Rates of hospital admission for medical and surgical conditions were 60-70% lower in the Transcendental Meditation group, with reductions in all 17 disease categories studied. For example, admissions were 87% less for heart and blood vessel disorders, 55% less for tumors, 73% less for respiratory disorders, 87% less for neurological problems, and 30% less for infections [4].
These findings are supported by a subsequent eleven-year study of Blue Cross/Blue Shield data for individuals practicing the TM technique in conjunction with a comprehensive natural Vedic health program. Again, marked reductions in medical care utilization were found compared with normative data and matched control groups.
Overall medical expenditure was 59% lower than norms, with 80 percent fewer hospital admissions and 55% fewer out-patient visits to the doctor. TM subjects over 45 years spent 88% fewer days in hospital than controls. Hospital admission rates were 92% lower for immune, endocrine, and metabolic disorders; 92% lower for cardiovascular disease; 92% lower for mental health and substance abuse; and 94% lower for musculoskeletal disorders [5].
You may be excused for thinking that all meditation techniques are the same, but this turns out to be incorrect.
Scientific research has examined the changes in the electrical activity of the brain when you are meditating using various techniques.
This will be explained in more detail during an introductory talk on TM .

Lewis Walch has been teaching Transcendental Meditation for over 50 years in Bolton, Burnley and Hale. He says: "TM twice daily will change your life bringing Personal Growth and Enlightenment.
Enjoy clearer more creative thinking, reduced stress, increased happiness, better health and more harmonious relationships."

Maharishi explained that the daily practise of Transcendental Meditation leads to the full development of Consciousness, culminating in the state of Enlightenment. This brings practical benefits for mind, body, social relationships and society - the full unfoldment of 'the most valuable qualities of human life', and the only sure path to creation of World Peace. World Peace is like a green forest made up of individual trees that are green.
Your contribution is the quality of your own consciousness. You are a unit of World Peace.
